• Mercredi dernier, après le marché de Sault, j’ai fait un tour dans la plaine de Monieux (Val de Sault) et j’ai trouvé un beau cabanon au milieu des lavandes. Les conditions de peinture étaient difficiles: du vent, de la chaleur et du soleil fort et j’ai dû mouiller le papier sans cesse. Cette esquisse rapide me servira comme modèle pour une aquarelle plus grande.

• Last Wednesday after the market of Sault I went for a stroll in the plain of Monieux where I found a lovely cabanon in the middle of lavender fields. Painting conditions were difficult: wind, heat and strong sun dried the paper at the drop of a hat. I will use this quick colour sketch for a bigger watercolor painting.

• Nach dem Markt in Sault letzten Mittwoch machte ich einen Streifzug durch die Ebene von Monieux, wo ich einen schönen cabanon fand inmitten von Lavendelfeldern. Die Bedingungen zum Malen waren schwierig: Wind, Hitze und starke Sonne ließen das Papier im Handumdrehen trocknen. Diese schnelle Aquarellskizze werde ich als Modell für ein größeres Bild verwenden.

• Après des études monochromes de grisaille et sépia on a envie de couleur. Une régate de catamarans est un sujet bariolé avec beaucoup de couleurs lumineuses.

•  After the monochromatic paintings in grisaille and sepia we are up for colour. A sailing regatta of catamarans is a variegated subject with lots of glowing colours.

•  Nach monochromatischen Studien in grau und Sepia hat man Lust auf Farbe. Eine Regatta mit Katamaranen ist ein buntes Malobjekt mit vielen leuchtenden Farben.
