Aquarelle en Provence

Les carnets d’esquisses sont la “matière première” de l’aquarelliste. Gardez un petit bloc à portée de main avec vous. Un simple croquis de valeurs au crayon est possible partout. En randonnée, au supermarché, à la Poste, au jardin – privé ou public. C’est spontané et décrispé, une saisie des formes, des tons (valeurs) et couleurs. Si on a pas de quoi à mettre les couleurs on les note pour travailler à la maison (et éventuellement utiliser une photo prise sur le vif même avec le téléphone portable – au moins ça sert à quelque chose)

 – Sketchbooks are precious sources of information and inspiration for he watercolour painter. You always should carry one with you, on a hiking tour, in the supermarket, in the post office or in the garden – private or public. A quick sketch catches the shapes, tonal values and colors of a scene. If you have no colors available you can note them in order to work out the sketch at home in the studio and maybe use a photo taken on location (why not with the cell phone)

 –  Das Skizzenbuch ist eine sehr wichtige Informations- und Inspirationsquelle des Aquarellisten. Man sollte immer eines bei sich haben, bei einer Wanderung, im Supermarkt, auf der Post oder im Garten – sei er nun privat oder öffentlich. Eine Bleistiftskizze ist schnell gemacht, um die Formen Tonwerte und Farben einer Szene einzufangen. Falls man keine Farben zur Hand hat, kann man diese notieren, um die Skizze zuhause weiter zu bearbeiten  (eventuell mit Hilfe eines Fotos, das man vor Ort, sei es auch nur mit dem Handy, gemacht hat.)
