Aquarelle en Provence

Le crépi de ce joli Mas entre Mormoiron et Bedoin n’est pas rose du tout, mais l’aquarelliste peut faire ce qu’il veut et change les couleurs comme il a besoin. Entre le fond bleu gris du Ventoux et le premier plan, plutôt ocre, il me fallait une autre couleur qui s’interpose.

The plaster of this old farmhouse (Mas provençal) is not of this pink but don’t forget: the painter is free in his (her) choice of colour. So I decided to put the rose-coloured walls between the blue-grey of the Ventoux in the distance and the warmer ochre of the foreground.

Dieses alte provenzalische “Mas” ist keineswegs so rosarot verputzt. Aber der Aquarellist ist frei in der Wahl seiner Farben und deshalb setzte ich dieses Pink zwischen das Graublau des Ventoux im Hintergrund und den eher ockerfarbigen Vordergrund.
